The Okanogan County Board of County Commissioners (Okanogan County - BOCC) is the legislative authority in the county. Three commissioners are elected to serve a term of 4-years from districts with boundaries drawn based on population. Each Commissioner must live in and represent his or her district. Each board of county commissioners consists of three qualified electors, two of whom constitute a quorum to do business. The primary legislative powers of the board of commissioners are defined inĀ RCW 36.32.120.

Notice of Public Hearing Extension of Ordinance 2021-9 Cannabis Moratorium NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Okanogan Board of County Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on February 28, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. to take public testimony regarding the extension of Ordinance 2021-9 adopted on August 24, 2021 which imposed a temporary moratorium on the permitting of new cannabis grows and the expansion of existing cannabis grows in Okanogan County, Washington. The moratorium was adopted in accordance with Revised Code of Washington 36.70.795... Written comments will be accepted prior to the hearing and may be submitted in writing or electronically to Pete Palmer, Director of Okanogan County Planning & Development, at 123 5th Ave N Ste 130, Okanogan, WA 98840 or at spalmer@co.okanogan.wa.usComments must be received by noon on February 25, 2022.
