In 2022, the Washington State Legislature passed HB 1210, "Replacing the term 'marijuana' with the term 'cannabis' throughout the Revised Code of Washington." At the request of a Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB) representative, the agency was required to undertake expedited rulemaking to implement the change within the titles of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) under their authority.
