The Chelan County Community Development Department postponed their request for discussion and action regarding a “hemp moratorium” during Tuesday morning’s board meeting of the Chelan County Commissioners.
- The agenda for the board meeting listed a “Hemp Moratorium action item” under Community Development Director Jim Brown’s segment at 10:15am. Cannabis Observer was unable to locate any publicly accessible documents regarding the item.
- At the beginning of his segment, Brown said, “The hemp moratorium action item is struck from this week. I had Marcus Foster in my office yesterday, we were having further discussion about that. And he wants to do a little bit more research before we bring that to you for discussion with the Board and board action” (audio - 1m).
- Marcus Foster is a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Chelan County. At publication time, he was assigned to the long-running NSJB Enterprise v. Chelan County Land Use Petition Act (LUPA) case (17-2-00548-1) regarding Evergreen Production's tier 2 producer/processor licensed premise in Monitor, Washington.
