Here’s a look at cannabis-related policymaking events on the calendar in the week ahead.

Tuesday April 19th
WSLCB - Board Caucus
On Tuesday at 10am PT, the weekly Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB) Board Caucus was scheduled to recur.

Wednesday April 20th
At publication time, no cannabis-related policymaking events were scheduled on the most widely recognized unofficial cannabis holiday.
Ever since “the Waldos” began furtively confirming their intentions to meet after school at the Louis Pasteur statue on the San Rafael High School campus at 4:20pm before piling into a 1966 Chevy Impala to seek a hidden cannabis grow indicated on a “treasure map,” the term 420 (or 4:20 or 4/20) had taken on global significance as one of many codes for coordinating social consumption of cannabis - still a widely prohibited activity in most parts of the world.

Some bellwethers for 2022:
- Adult use cannabis sales opened in New Mexico on April 1st, grossing $5.2M in sales across 87,773 transactions over the first weekend. Sol Cannabis in Las Cruces was awarded the first social consumption lounge license in the state in time for the secular holiday.
- Adult use cannabis sales were scheduled to begin in New Jersey on 4/21, but rulemaking for social consumption lounges remained in-process.
- Elsewhere, it looked like 2022 would be the year 420 social events were re-lit.
Thursday April 21st
WA SECTF - Work Group - Licensing - Public Meeting
On Wednesday at 10am PT, the Washington State Legislative Task Force on Social Equity in Cannabis Licensing Work Group (WA SECTF - Work Group - Licensing) was scheduled to convene.

- The last scheduled meeting of the Licensing Work Group on April 7th was cancelled. The upcoming meeting would be the 10th time the longest running WA SECTF work group has met and mark its one year anniversary.
- The Community Reinvestment Work Group met last week for the second—and last—time.
Friday April 22nd
