Staff explained developments around traceability and WSLCB Enforcement's draft policy on administrative visits to licensees.
Here are some observations from the Tuesday March 13th Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB) Board Caucus.
My top 3 takeaways:
- Deputy Director Peter Antolin updated the Board on the latest developments around traceability. WSLCB plans to hire a technical Independent Verification and Validation (IVV) vendor to analyze the source of issues being encountered by licensees: is it MJ Freeway or third-party integrator platforms? The blocking issue Confidence Analytics identified was specifically mentioned – with reassurances that it had been escalated and a papertrail workaround communicated to licensees. Later on Tuesday, Peter planned to meet with MJ Freeway’s CEO for what was presented as a serious discussion about their contract with WSLCB and “the company’s viability.” Here’s a link to that segment of the transcript and a link to the audio recording of that segment of the meeting.
- Member Russ Hauge reported that WSLCB Enforcement and HR have completed a draft SOP for Enforcement’s administrative visits to cannabis licensees. Here’s a link to that segment of the transcript and a link to the audio recording of that segment of the meeting.
- Member Russ Hauge heads to Washington, D.C. next week as part of a delegation promoting Washington state’s cannabis industry. Objectives were discussed and it was mentioned that the trip has been organized by WaCA. Here’s a link to that segment of the transcript and a link to the audio recording of that segment of the meeting.
