The Cannabis Alliance - Town Hall - Bridging the Divide Between Cannabis and Hemp

On Thursday at 3pm PT, the Cannabis Alliance planned to host an “All Cannabis Town Hall meeting to discuss how to best integrate hemp and adult-use cannabis within our Washington cannabis industries.”

  • [ Event Details ]
  • While the Alliance is a membership-based non-profit organization, Cannabis Observer works in coordination with private entities that host events featuring public officials acting in their official capacities to document cannabis policymaking information of relevance.
  • The event announcement suggested, “The challenges following the passage of SB 5367 have been significant and the ongoing lack of direction from the federal government has continued to complicate the landscape.  These factors have left us all in a state of untenable unpredictability in competition with under-regulated, out-of-state interests.  We have always believed that we are stronger together and it is our hope that by opening this cross-industry conversation in earnest, we might find ways to foster collaboration, address common challenges, and explore opportunities for mutual growth in our rapidly evolving industries.”
  • At publication time, it was Cannabis Observer’s understanding that State officials had been invited to the event, and Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) Agricultural Environmental Services Division Assistant Director Kelly McLain planned to participate.

Friday August 16th

At publication time, no cannabis-related policymaking events were scheduled.
