Here’s a look at cannabis-related policymaking events on the calendar in the week ahead.

Monday November 1st

Tuesday November 2nd

WA HCA - WA Prevention Summit

On Tuesday at 9am PT, the annual Washington State Prevention Summit was scheduled to begin two days of presentations and workshops.

  • In collaboration with other state agencies and prevention organizations, the WA HCA Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) hosts an annual Washington State Prevention Summit each fall in central Washington or virtually. The summit is described as “an enriching training and networking opportunity for youth, volunteers, and professionals engaged in health promotion and the prevention of substance misuse, violence, and other high-risk behaviors, in a setting that promotes cultural humility.”
  • The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB) is traditionally a high-level summit sponsor.
  • While an overall schedule had been made available at publication time, the specific agenda for the summit had not yet been published and would be made available to attendees on Tuesday morning. A “youth track” was cancelled due to extremely low registration and based upon feedback we received from youth and youth team leaders.”

WSLCB - Board Caucus

On Tuesday at 10am PT, the weekly WSLCB Board Caucus was scheduled to recur.

WA SECTF - Work Group - TA and Mentorship - Public Meeting

On Tuesday at 1pm PT, the Washington State Legislative Task Force on Social Equity in Cannabis Technical Assistance and Mentorship Work Group (WA SECTF - Work Group - TA and Mentorship) was scheduled to convene.

  • The TA and Mentorship Work Group last convened on October 12th. The full task force last convened on October 28th to focus on recommendations from the Disproportionately Impacted Communities work group.

Wednesday November 3rd

On Wednesday at 9am PT, the annual Washington State Prevention Summit was scheduled to conclude two days of presentations and workshops.
