Meet the 18 appointed members of the Washington State Legislative Task Force on Social Equity in Cannabis in our first post on the inaugural meeting of this group.

The Board prepared to receive proposed rules for the Location Compliance Certificates rulemaking project, briefly discussed the Task Force on Social Equity in Cannabis, and remained uncertain if the agency would host a meeting of the Cannabis Advisory Council (CAC) in 2020.

SBOH members heard two notable public comments on proposed rules to more permanently prohibit use of vitamin E acetate in all vapor products before voting to adopt the rules as final.

Another WSLCB staffer prepared to depart, proposed quality control testing rules would be revised, and the cannabis social equity and marijuana odor task forces began to take shape.

Where does all the cannabis money go? Taxes from cannabis sales were utilized for a multitude of purposes and cannabis-related policymaking was funded by the Legislature.

11 cannabis-related bills remain active approaching Wednesday’s house of origin cutoff, and the City of Seattle hosts a forum on “Cannabis Equity in Our Community” on Saturday.

Agency leadership heard a substantial update on the legislative landscape for the 2020 session, and a licensee operating a cannabis delivery service garnered agency attention.

On Tuesday April 16th, SB 5605 was passed by the House with a vote of 68 yeas, 29 nays, and no absent or excused.
