The fiscal committee heard substantial positive testimony on HB 1131, the home grow bill, and has until this coming Tuesday to refer it out of committee to continue its momentum.

WSLCB Director Rick Garza spoke about restructuring agency enforcement and the Committee heard HB 2296 and HB 2300 regarding cannabidiol (CBD) products.

Public hearings on cannabis-related bills HB 2263 and HB 2361 filled the hearing room to capacity, and generated significantly more resistance than promotion.

The Board was treated to a sweeping survey of the agency’s prevention and public health efforts before a swift public hearing on the Cannabis Penalties rulemaking project.

Attendees introduced themselves, indicating a mix of prevention, public health, and industry perspectives would be shared on the topic of packaging and labeling (PAL).

The Council focused on agency and member legislative goals for the 2020 session, and heard an update on WSLCB activity mitigating the vapor associated lung injury health scare.
